SUMMARY:
For customers upgrading from Scout versions prior to 1.14.0 that implemented a work around for display driver issues with DirectX 9 referenced HERE, you will need to revert to the OEM display driver (most current supported version).
DETAILS:
Scout versions prior to 1.14.0 displayed video using Microsoft DirectX 9 (DX9) technology. Per the article referenced above, Intel and AMD made performance and cost saving decisions to change the way they support the DX9 version. Their attempt to emulate DX9 caused issues with many applications including Scout. To work around this issue, WoundVision recommended using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter which allowed Scout to stream video correctly. With Scout 1.14 and later, we have moved to the more modern DirectX 12 (DX12) technology. This move to DX12 brings a much more modern video platform to Scout, the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter does not support the necessary requirements in order to display DX12 video. Therefore, the change made to workaround the DX9 issue should be reverted. Further, the support of DX12 continues to improve as companies like Intel/AMD release graphic driver updates. Therefore, we recommend not only reverting to the OEM display driver but ensuring it is up to date.
